The Amsterdamse School is an architectural style which became popular in Amsterdam in the 1910’s. It is known for the expressive use of color and material and it’s distinct façade decorations. One of the most well-known buildings in this style is ‘het Schip’, by one of the most important architects of the movement: Michel de Klerk. Of course this one of the buildings that we won’t be able to miss on our tour of the buildings of the Amsterdamse School.
Join us on this first ArchitecTOUR of the year to learn more about the style and have a tour through history as we pass by its highlights in chronological order!
