Study Associations VIA Urbanism and AnArchi collectively organize an excursion to the just completed Noord/Zuidlijn (the North-South metro line) in Amsterdam. We will discover both the urban and the architectural design underlying this immense infrastructural project, and how our two disciplines come together in one project. We are very happy to reveal two very special tours for this excursion. In the morning, Jan Benthem of Benthem Crouwel Architects, who were responsible for the architectural and urban design of the project, will do a guided tour through the Noord-Zuidlijn and its stations. And in the afternoon, Pi de Bruijn, founding partner of de Architecten Cie., will walk with us over Zuidas, the new business district at the far South end of the Noord-Zuidlijn, which he made the masterplan for.
